Charles P. “Charlie” Anderson, 82, of Arizona City died peacefully at home on Dec. 10, 2010.
Mr. Anderson was born on Sept. 13, 1928, in Maple Plain, Minn., and was a son of Laura and Frank Anderson. He served in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart Medal. He spent most of his life in Colorado, where he worked in newspaper advertising, was a successful businessman and politician. Tired of the cold, he retired in Arizona City. He was notorious for his lively discussions and was known for his spirit.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; seven daughters, Cheryl, Susan, Laurie, Coral, Heather, Holly and Amber; a son, Joe; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The memorial service with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. Visitation will begin at 10. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
