BLACKWATER ? Cecil L. Murgia, 57, of Sacaton died Aug. 6, 2009 in Sacaton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 1 Service Center. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Saturday in West Blackwater Cemetery, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating.

Mr. Murgia was born in Sacaton. He was a pump mechanic and worked for the San Carlos Irrigation Project for 20 years. He loved to wake up early and watch the sunrise.

He also loved his dogs, especially Chula. He enjoyed roses, karaoke, talking on the phone and going to the Coolidge swap meet every Sunday. He enjoyed people, joking and taking care of others. He was a great father figure for his family.

Survivors include his companion, Roseann Jimenez; three daughters, Fonda Murgia of Phoenix, Priscilla Jimenez and Bobbie Gonzales of Coolidge; three sons, David Jimenez of San Diego, Laramie Kisto and Daniel Thomas of Sacaton; a sister, Mary Rascon of Coolidge; two brothers, John Murgia of Blackwater and Ray Murgia of Gila River District 3; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Cecil L. Murgia Sr.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
