Carl Edward Mayfield

ARIZONA CITY - Carl Edward Mayfield, 87, of Arizona City died on April 16, 2014, at home.

The service will be held later.

Mr. Mayfield was born on Feb. 16, 1927, in Williamsburg, Ky., and was a son of Pete Mayfield and Katie E. Dotson. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Germany, and an inspector for General Motors. He was a member of the Church of God and became a pastor in 1978 at Flowing Waters Church of Avra Valley. He also was an artist, painting colors on his photographs. He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie R.; two sons, Michael Lanham of Green Bay, Wis., and Les Dykes of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Cathy Odom of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Carla Hunter of Marana; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Mayfield.
