AK-CHIN - Briana M. Valenzuela, 13, died on Oct. 20, 2013, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Ak-Chin Service Center, with rosary recited at 6. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. The Rev. Gregory Rice and Deacon Bill DeMarco will officiate. Burial will be in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
Briana was born on Oct. 26, 1999, in Chandler. She was Catholic and a student at Maricopa Wells Middle School. She enjoyed drawing, for which she had great talent, and arts and crafts. She was known for her big smile and huge hugs and loved her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was very caring and lovable and had a big heart.
Survivors include her parents, Deidra E. Carlyle of Ak-Chin and Brijido "Beetle" Valenzuela of Casa Grande; two brothers, Frankie H. Carlyle and Johnny M. Perkins of Ak-Chin; four sisters, Jasmine Carlyle-Miguel, Bianca M. Valenzuela of Ak-Chin, Britney M. Valenzuela and Bibana M. Thomas of Casa Grande; grandparents, Delia Carlyle of Ak-Chin, Jose M. Valenzuela of Casa Grande, Mary L. Neville of Casa Grande and Manuel M. Osegueda Jr. of Hickiwan Village; her stepgrandmother, Janene Osegueda of Hickiwan; and great-grandmother, Sally Osegueda of San Lucy Village. She was preceded in death by a sister, Casandra M. Granado.
