Boyd Shelton Jones

BLACKWATER — Boyd Sheldon Jones, 75, of Blackwater died about Feb. 15, 2023.

Mr. Jones was born on Oct. 7, 1947, in Blackwater and was a son of Herman and Esther Thomas-Lewis Jones. He last worked at Gila River Casinos as a groundskeeper before retiring several years ago. He played guitar, was in a band called Midnight Run and liked listening to music.

He worked on model cars and sketched and painted, mostly people's headshots. He also liked classic cars. He enjoyed time with family and friends. He was close to and had much respect for his three sisters, they were a close-knit family.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, Edgar B., Nancy L., Odella M. and Lucille Jones.

Visitation from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at the District 1 Multipurpose Building. Graveside service at 8 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, in Blackwater West Cemetery, with Pastor Iris Pablo officiating.
