Bobby Joe Brady, age 70, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2013 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center, Casa Grande, Arizona. He was born on February 12, 1943 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to parents James *Pete* Brady and Flossie Cox Brady. The family moved to Casa Grande in September, 1948. He attended schools in Casa Grande and graduated from Casa Grande Union High School. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and later graduated from the Los Angeles Police Academy where he served two years there as a police officer. Bob returned to Arizona in 1964 and began a career working with Mountain State Telephone and Telegraph Co. He saw many changes in the company and telephone service. He retired from Qwest after working 36 years. Shortly after retirement he went to work for Gila River International Telephone. He was honored as employee of the month and also employee of the year for 2002. He was a 49-year member of the Casa Grande Elks Lodge #1957. He was a life member and served in all chairs and was Exalted Ruler from 1981-1982. Bob enjoyed trips to San Diego with family and traveling to Texas to visit his grandchildren. He played the guitar, and taught young members of the family how to play the instrument. Bob always had interesting stories about the history of the Casa Grande Valley. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jo Ann; daughters, Tara Brady of Chandler, AZ and Stephanie and husband Loren Dawson of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Gaven and Faith Dawson of Sherman, TX and Clay Sommers of Awatukee, AZ; brothers, James and Gene Brady and sister, Sandra Hooper, all of Casa Grande. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Balvina O*Neil of Casa Grande as well as many nephews and nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Brady, his parents and a sister, Carolyn Thornton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Cole and Maud, The Gardens Chapel. Following the service, burial will be at Mt. View Cemetery. J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud the Gardens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
