Bernice Wilson

SANTAN — Bernice Josephine Wilson, 92, of Chandler died on March 16, 2012, at Archstone Care Center in Chandler.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lower Santan Chapel, with the Rev. Wilford Wellington officiating. Burial will be in Santan Day School Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born on Aug. 25, 1919, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Johnson E. and Fanny Hughes Darrell. She was a nutritionist and was Presbyterian. She enjoyed crocheting as well as playing basketball and baseball in her younger years and said she was the star of the teams.
Survivors include three sons, William R. Wilson of San Jose, Calif., Reynold J. Hoeyma and Lynford L. Wilson of Sacaton; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; a daughter, Della C. Vavages; and a grandson, Michael A. Wilson.
