Barbara J. Hernandez

ELOY - Barbara J. Hernandez, 77, of Eloy died peacefully on Jan. 21, 2015, in Visalia, California.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Scott Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hernandez was born on Jan. 15, 1938, in Tucson, the second of six children of Samuel and Bessie Lea Kite. She married Daniel Hernandez in 1955, had six children and worked at various jobs in and around Eloy. She had many family members and friends whom she cared for and visited with often. She loved life and very much enjoyed being around all those who loved her. She loved to talk and tell stories about people and places from her childhood. Her favorites were of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The last four years she was cared for by her daughter Brenda and son Daniel in Visalia, where she loved to get out and go shopping, eat at IHOP, take long, scenic drives and spend time with her family. She loved sports, especially watching her great-grandson’s Little League games.

Survivors include a brother, Sammy Kite of Sylacauga, Alabama; four daughters, Brenda L. Hernandez of Visalia, Glinda S. Hutchinson of Casa Grande, Ellen L. "Lucy" Choate of Coolidge and Danette G. Wright of Capitol Heights, Maryland; a son, Daniel G. Hernandez Jr. of Visalia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mary Jane Hernandez; two brothers, Harold D. and Cluit Kite; and two sisters, Wanda J. Hernandez and Carol Kite.
