Barbara Ann Coops

BAPCHULE - Barbara Ann Coops, 60, died on Sept. 18, 2013, at Caring House in Sacaton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Irvin Terry officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Ms. Coops was born on June 12, 1953, in Sacaton. She worked as a cashier and attended Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church and River of Life Assembly of God. She was active in a dialysis support group in Sacaton and enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking and, most of all, her family. She worked at Sacaton Super Mart for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Dexter Lewis Sr.; a daughter, Michelle Lyons of Sacaton; three sons, Michael and Daniel Lewis Sr. of Sacaton and Dexter Lewis Jr. of Casa Blanca; a sister, Caroline Leyva of Santan; four brothers, Lorenzo Coops Jr. of Sacaton, Eric Coops of Santan, Donald Coops of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dale Coops of Salt River; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte Blackwater and Lorenzo S. Coops Sr.; a brother, Norman Coops; and a daughter, Thelma Lewis.
