Alvin Dean McRae, 63, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 8, 2012, at home.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Casa Grande Stake Center. The funeral will be there at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. McRae was born on June 21, 1949, in Mesa to Milton and Asenath McRae. He was a heavy-equipment operator who worked for the city of Casa Grande and was a miner for 23 years. He also worked at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge and for the Coolidge Unified School District. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he had been a counselor in the Sunday School Presidency, Young Men's president and a stake missionary. He loved to garden, go camping, go fishing, spend time with his children and grandchildren and play softball.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; two sons, Alvin D. McRae II of Florida and Matthew McRae of Georgia; five daughters, Susan McRae of Casa Grande, Crystal Wells of Mesa, Marcey Morrison, Katherine Flores and Amber Bell, all of Casa Grande; two brothers, Warren McRae of Gilbert and Kenyon McRae of Casa Grande; one sister, Sandra Moffett of Mesa; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald McRae, and a granddaughter.
