Alicia Veronica Manuel

KOHATK VILLAGE - Alicia Veronica Manuel, 67, of Kohatk died on Feb. 5, 2014, at home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Mission by the Rev. Bill Minkel. A wake will follow. Burial will be at sunrise Saturday in Kohatk.

Ms. Manuel was born on Feb. 26, 1946, in Sells on the Tohono O’odham Nation and was a daughter of Lalo Miguel and Nellie Lewis. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Arizona resident. She enjoyed listening to chicken scratch and Mexican music and spending time with her family and friends. In 1998 she was selected as queen of an event at Tanger Outlet Center in Casa Grande. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Manuel of Stanfield; two sons, Donnie Manuel of Sacaton Flats and Blaine Manuel of Ak-Chin; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
