Phyllis Wagoner

Phyllis Marie Wagoner, 77, of Casa Grande died on March 19, 2015, at home.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at North Trekell Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wagoner was born on July 14, 1937, in Adel, Iowa, and was a daughter of Curtis and Irene Belew. She married Larry Wagoner of Adel on Dec. 31, 1955, and they lived there, where Larry was a Caterpillar mechanic for 41 years. She was a homemaker, and they had four adopted children, Ann M., Ellen J., James D. and Mark A.

She made wedding cakes and porcelain dolls. When Larry retired in 1997, they moved to Casa Grande. Larry built her a shop where she continued to make dolls and sew for them. She had doll classes to teach others and was well liked.

Survivors include her husband of 59-plus years; five daughters, Ann Howser of Des Moines, Iowa, Ellen Roberts of Bettendorf, Iowa, Daphne Anderson of Nashville, Tennessee, Angela Willis of Casa Grande and Julie Walton of Arizona City; three sons, James Wagoner of Minneapolis, Mark Wagoner of Davenport, Iowa, and Dave Salyer of Nashville; a sister, Evelyn Nourse of Des Moines; a brother, Clifford Belew of Hamilton, Montana; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Roland, and two brothers, Kenneth and Richard Belew.
