Oliver Randall

Oliver Randall departed this life to be with the Lord on December 27, 2017 in Casa Grande, Arizona. He was born on December 30, 1919 to the late Lonzey(Henry) Randall and Frankie Lucas in Lindale (Smith County) Texas. He was the oldest of four children.

Oliver attended school in Lindale, Texas. He had a passion for the game of baseball and excelled on the diamond not only with his speed ability but also with his talent level at 1st base and at pitcher. He met and married Earnestine Wooten on December 10, 1942 at Rock Creek in Lindale, Texas. Together they had four children,Frankie Lee (deceased), Ina Mae, James Oliver and Mattie T.

Oliver enlisted in the United States Army on January 18, 1945
in Dallas, Texas. While in the service, he achieved the status of
Marksman with the rifle. Oliver was Honorably Discharged on August 2, 1945 in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. In 1953, Oliver and Earnestine moved their family to Casa Grande, Arizona. He worked in construction for Harlan Griffin Construction Company for over 25 years in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Oliver served as a Deacon at his church of the Free Church of God in Christ in Jesus Name in Casa Grande, Arizona for several years, and as a member of the same church for over 58 years. His pastor at the church was Pastor Carolyn Jack.

Oliver enjoyed baseball, traveling to family reunions with his wife, children and grandchildren, going to church and church revivals. He was a very active man who was constantly doing many jobs around his house such as roofing and maintaining his yard. Oliver was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts.

Oliver leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Ina Calloway
of Casa Grande, Arizona, James Randall of Blythe, California and Mattie Randall of Phoenix, Arizona; his 23 grandchildren; his 65 great-grandchildren; and his 62 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Oliver is preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine; his daughter, Frankie Lee; his two brothers, Eddie Lee and Leon; his sister, Pearlie Mae Lucas; and his great-granddaughter,
Deja Cleveland.

The family will be accepting visitors beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Casa Grande Assembly of God. A celebration of Oliver’s life will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor RB Fowler officiating. Military burial will follow in the Mariposa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona at 12:30 p.m. with honors provided by the United States Army. Serving as pallbearers are: Tyrone West, Michael Simmons, Ernest Randall, Kevin Valley, Manny Coleman, BJ (James) Randall, Jonathon Randall and Malik Simmons.
Funeral services entrusted to J. Warren Funeral Services, The Gardens Chapel, 525 North Peart Road, Casa Grande, Arizona.
