STANFIELD - Mercedes Solano, 72, of Stanfield died on Sept. 6, 2014, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 7. The scripture service there will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Solano was born on Sept. 24, 1941, in Mexico and was a daughter of Lorenzo Castro and Paula Gonzalez. She was head cook at Stanfield Elementary School and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and travel, but she most loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Damacio; three daughters, Sandra Solano of Stanfield, Alicia Robles of Phoenix and Marisela Rojas of Casa Grande; two sons, Rogelio and Tony Solano of Maricopa; a sister, Soledad Castro of Los Angeles; a brother, Jesus Castro of Mexico; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
