ARIZONA CITY - Lucille Dorothy Lent, 97, of Arizona City died on July 14, 2014, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 9:30. A scripture service will follow at 10. Private burial will be in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix.

Mrs. Lent was born on May 13, 1917, in Columbiana, Ohio, and was a daughter of Harry and Eleanor Early. As an infant in 1917, she contracted polio while visiting a hospital with her parents during a polio epidemic. Her parents were told she would not survive beyond age 5. She worked for state government before retirement, and her dog, Susie, was her constant companion.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lent Jr.; four brothers, Clarence, Henry, Elmer and Harry Early; and four sisters, Kate, Alice, Grace and Florence.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwin Lent WWII Veterans Fund at Great Western Bank or the Valley Humane Society.
