Elizabeth Hight

CASA GRANDE - Willie Elizabeth Parker Hight, 89, died on April 9, 2018.

Mrs. Hight was born in Hayden on March 5, 1929, to Charlie and Olive Parker, the third of four children. She attended Hayden schools and then went to what is now Arizona State University in 1947. In 1948 she married Jack R. Hight, also of Hayden. They enjoyed living "off the grid" north of Heber-Overgaard.

She returned to Casa Grande after her husband's death in 2002 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed activities at Sunwest Resort Village clubhouse and lived in that community for several years. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Sunshine Rebekah Lodge, was Rebekah Assembly president in 1976-77 and secretary of several organizations. She enjoyed music, reading novels and watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.

Survivors include four daughters and sons, Robin Allred and Willie Jean Hight of Casa Grande, James R. Hight of Corinth, Mississippi, and William Hudzietz of Tempe; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary J. Huffmaster and Frances Atkinson, and a brother, Charlie L. Parker.

Celebration of life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with gathering following for family and friends.
