Eduardo Zapata

Eduardo D. Zapata, 70, of Casa Grande died on Aug. 17, 2015.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, with rosary recited at 11. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Zapata was born on Sept. 14, 1944, in Managua, Nicaragua, and came to the United States in 1985. He was a pressman and worked at Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc. until the time of his death.

He loved God, his family, his work, his peppers and the San Francisco Giants. He enjoyed waking up early to go out and water his trees. He was devoted to his family.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mercedes; five children; and 10 grandchildren.
